About Me

Hi I’m Emily Alecock, a creative photographer based in Carlisle, Cumbria. This is where I tell you a little about me!

Having always had a love for photography, I decided to study Commercial Photography at the University of Derby and graduated with a 2:1 in 2012.  I was then accredited by the B.I.P.P (British Institute of Professional Photography) in 2012 following a series of work I produced around the media perceptions of disability, (something very deer and important to me). Since then I have been involved in several walks of photography including weddings, portraits, events and commercial work (my first photography love).

My specialist area is within disability photography. Having been involved in care for most of my life, I developed a passion for creating portraits of the disabled that are both positive and striking. Having had training in vast areas including autism awareness, I credit myself on my knowledge of both physical and learning disabilities with over 8 years of professional experience. With this understanding and knowledge, I am able to create stunning portraits and natural images of individuals whom might ordinarily have difficulty in accessing such facilities.

The bulk of my work takes place in Carlisle, the lake district and surrounding areas, although I often travel nationwide.

I am outgoing, passionate, friendly and very easy to get along with, and always strive to make everyone I work with feel at ease through the duration of the shoot. Please feel free to view my testimonials for other people’s experience’s of the service I provide.

Contact me via my ‘contact me’ page for more information and any queries. I very much look forward to working with you in the future!
